BIG Little Science Centre 2008 Summer Camps Camp 1 (July 7th – July 11th 2008) Last day for
booking is July 3, 2008 for the July 7-11 Camp! Day 1: Fun with Fluids – Explore the amazing properties of fluids. Day 2: Riparian Zone Tour – Explore our local habitats in a day-long nature walk. Pan for gold. Day 3: Chemistry and
Kitchen Chemistry – Have fun with color-changing, gas producing,
sound-emitting chemical Day 4: McAbee Fossil Tour – Discover the natural history of BC while you find and collect real fossils. Day 5: Bugs and Fish – Collect and identify bugs and dissect a real salmon. Camp 2 (July 21st – July 25th 2008) Last day for booking is July 16, 2008 for the July 21-25 Camp!
Day 2: Riparian Zone Tour – Explore our local habitats in a day-long nature walk. Pan for gold. Day 3: CSI Cookie Caper – Solve a case by collecting fingerprints, comparing ink samples and examining hair fibers.
Day 5: Electricity – Learn how to make generators, batteries and circuits. ALL DAYS RUN 8:30 – 2:30. OPEN FOR AGES 6 – 12. Min 12 campers per camp. If there are less the 12 campers the camp will be canceled and all fees will be returned. Max 20 campers per camp. COST $140.00 per
camp. NOTE: There will be no lunch or snacks provided at any of the camps. Campers must bring their own lunch and snacks. Due to new regulations if your child is under 9 years of age or is less than 4'9" they require a booster seat by law. The booster seat will be needed at the summer camp on day 2 and 4 for travel to the riparian zone and the fossil beds. Please insure your child has the booster seat along on those days. Camp Discounts: $5 per week for campers registered in both camps. $5 per week for BLSCS members. |
